StarKits Prophecy Wiki

Firestar is the original leader of ThunderClan and acts very out of character throughout the book. He fights his best friend over a she-cat who is still an apprentice, drops his life-long mate, and does many more agonizingly stupid things.

Appearance[]

Canon[]

Firestar is a large, bright, flame-colored tom with a pale orange belly. He has short, sleek, and thick fur, large ears, a long tail, and bright, emerald-green eyes.

Starkit's Prophecy[]

Firestar is a ginger tom with a flame-colored pelt, as mentioned in the book's allegiances. In Moonkitti's adaptation, he is drawn as a thick-furred ginger tabby tom with light green eyes, large ears, soft chest fur, and dark ginger-brown stripes along his back.

History[]

Canon[]

Firestar was born as Rusty to Nutmeg and Jake alongside his sister, Princess, and his three unnamed siblings, Filou, Tommy, and Luna. As a kittypet, he developed a keen interest in the wild and joined ThunderClan as Firepaw, when he proved his worth as an apprentice. Later, he committed many heroics, including discovering Tigerclaw's treachery, and eventually earned his warrior name of Fireheart and an apprentice, Cinderpaw. However, when Cinderpaw injured herself along the Thunderpath and became a medicine cat apprentice, Fireheart spent more time in Twolegplace and eventually brought home his nephew, Cloudkit, who became his next apprentice as Cloudpaw after Tigerclaw was exiled from ThunderClan and Fireheart took his place as deputy. Later, after moons of difficult training, Cloudpaw became a warrior as Cloudtail, and Fireheart received his third apprentice, Bramblepaw. After Bluestar threw herself over the gorge to save her Clan from a pack of dogs, Fireheart received his nine lives and his new name of Firestar, and appointed Whitestorm as his deputy.

Later on, as leaders, Firestar and Tigerstar rallied up the Clans into LionClan and TigerClan. However, the upcoming battle was stopped when Scourge and BloodClan came into the forest and killed Tigerstar. At this event, TigerClan joined LionClan and chased BloodClan out of the forest. Many cats, including Whitestorm, died in the battle, and Graystripe replaced him as deputy. Shortly afterwards, Firestar's apprentice Bramblepaw became a warrior as Brambleclaw, and Firestar and Sandstorm traveled to the gorge to rebuild SkyClan, making Leafstar their leader, Sharpclaw their deputy, and Echosong their medicine cat.

A while later, Twolegs began to destroy the forest. Firestar originally wanted to leave the territories, but refused to go without the other Clans at his side. Eventually, the other three Clans agreed to travel to the lake territories, following the path led by a dying warrior, as told in Midnight's omen. In the lake, Firestar agreed to settle ThunderClan in the oak forest, and appointed Brambleclaw as his deputy when he admitted that the former deputy, Graystripe, was dead, as he went missing for so long.

Starkit's Prophecy[]

During the book, Firestar acts strangely out-of-character and commits several odd actions. He is first mentioned as the ThunderClan leader in the allegiances. During Chapter 1, he calls a Clan meeting, making Starkit his apprentice as Starpaw. Shortly after his special apprentice fights back an entire ShadowClan patrol by herself, Firestar praises Starpaw and takes her out to training, teaching her how to claw an opponent and hunt. Later on, after Graystripe asks Starpaw if he could be her mate, Firestar interrupts and fights him, saying that he should be her mate instead. In Chapter 8, Firestar makes Starpaw a warrior and gives her the new name of Stargleam. Shortly after seeing Hollyleaf betray him by attacking ThunderClan, Firestar runs away with Sandstorm, but is later kidnapped by his former Clanmate and threatened to be killed by Tigerstar with poisonous yew berries. The flame-colored tom is saved by Flamepaw and Lakepaw, but the latter is killed in the process.

During the Gathering where Stargleam announces the Ten Commandments, Firestar admits that she is a far better leader than her, and steps down on his leadership to let her take over. However, during the next chapter, Fireheart mentions that he has no use in ThunderClan now that he is no longer leader, and ends of becoming leader of ShadowClan instead after Blackstar commits suicide. Firestar later participates in the battle against the Dark Forest, and he was shown to be on StarClan's side.

Relationships[]

Canon[]

Spottedleaf[]

In the canon books, Firepaw had a brief crush on Spottedleaf while she was still alive. After being killed by Clawface in Into the Wild, Spottedleaf continued to build up her relationship with Fireheart, often giving him advice and guidance in difficult situations through dreams. However, after realizing that Firestar could only be happy with Sandstorm as his mate, Spottedleaf let go of her relationship with Firestar to that he could be happy, rather than having to chase her around in dreams trying to spend more time with her.

Sandstorm[]

After realizing that his heart belonged to Sandstorm, Fireheart stopped his relationship with Spottedleaf and began to spend more time with Sandstorm, slowly developing his relationship with her. The two often comforted each other in times of trouble and assured that they were making the right decision. For example, Firestar came up with the idea of attacking BloodClan, but it was Sandstorm to reassured at it was the right idea. Meanwhile, Sandstorm fought side-by-side with Firestar in the battle with the rats, proving that she cared about his ideas.

Starkit's Prophecy[]

Gleamstar[]

Although not very developed, Firestar developed a crush on Starpaw when she was her apprentice, mainly because of her perfection. When talking to Jayfeather, Starpaw silently admits that she loves Firestar back. However, though Firestar's love for Gleamstar has never truly faded, it is unknown whether or not Starpaw still enjoys having Firestar around.

Trivia[]

Interesting Facts[]

  • He chose Gleamstar as his apprentice because they snuck out of camp and hunted together.
  • Since Gleamstar is Firestar's great-grandniece, and was an apprentice at the time, this would make Firestar a pedophile and an incest.
  • "Be good to your mate" was one of the ten commandments of StarClan, and since Firestar ditched his mate for his great-grandniece before crawling back, he's gone against the very laws of StarClan and is never punished. (Too busy focusing on two she-cats kissing each other.)

Mistakes[]

  • Firestar has been called many different names over the span of the fanfic, including:
  • Firehert
